I'm not much of a gamer, I mean hell, the last gaming console I bought was my Wii back in like 2,009, even though I was a little late to the party. But if there's any game I'm willing to play, It'd be any game from The Legend of Zelda franchise. These games have received just universal praise and attention from critics perceiving them as just gold. I think one of the reasons is because all these games have a built in, well-executed story, that's overall part of just a bigger story; The Zelda Universe aka timeline. And many many many theories about how all the weird shit in these games can be explained have been brought up. So, for all my Zelda fans out there, I'm going to countdown my favorite Legend of Zelda theories. Now apparently I have to say these following things: I didn't come up with any of these theories, and if I pronounce some of the words different, well deal with it. Also for all the people who took my childhood conspiracy theories video really really seriously, understand something; I'm here to entertain, calm the fuck down. With that being said, here are my top 15 Zelda Theories.
The Legend of Zelda (ゼルダの伝説 Zeruda no Densetsu?) is a high fantasy themed action-adventure game series created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka and Eiji Aonuma. It was developed and published by Nintendo, with some portable installments outsourced to Flagship/Capcom, Vanpool, and Grezzo. Its gameplay is a mixture of action, adventure, and puzzle solving. It is one of Nintendo's most important and popular franchises.
The series centers on Link, the playable character. Link is often given the task of rescuing Princess Zelda and Hyrule from Ganondorf, a Gerudo thief who is the primary antagonist of the series. However, other settings and antagonists have appeared throughout the games, with Vaati being a strong secondary antagonist during the lifespan of the Game Boy Advance. The stories commonly involve a relic known as the Triforce, a set of three omnipotent golden triangles. The protagonist in each game is usually not the same incarnation of Link, but a few exceptions do exist.
The Legend of Zelda series consists of 17 official games on all of Nintendo's major consoles, as well as several spin-offs. An American animated series based on the games aired in 1,989, and individual manga adaptations which are officially endorsed and commissioned by Nintendo have been produced in Japan since 1,997. As of 2,011, the series had sold over 67 million copies.
